Praise Yah!!!
There are many who claim that the name of God is not known, nor has it ever been known to mankind. But what they fail to realize, is that Yahweh the Almighty God, through his comforting spirit, known in the scriptures as the Holy Ghost, is undoubtedly able to lead and guide those who are willing to worship him in spirit and in truth, into all truth, even the truth of what his actual name is.

Have you ever wondered why the false gods in the Holy Bible, such as Molech, Chemosh, Ashtoreth, Milcom (1 Kings 11:5-7), Jupiter, Mercurius, and Diana(Acts 14:12, 19:35), are referred to by their actual names, while the true and living God, the only god that is not false, is not referred to by his name, the name which God undeniably declared to Moses in Exodus 3:15 to be his name forever, and his memorial to all generations of mankind. This is because his name was replaced in the King James Version, as well as most other versions of the Bible, with the titles "God" and/or "Lord".

The fact is, you will never find God's name in the King James Version of the Scriptures. Granted, you will find the name Jehovah, but that name is only around 500 years old, so it cannot be God's original, actual, and true name which was revealed thousands of years ago, in Moses' time.

With only a little research, you can discover that, to this day, the Jewish people do know that the name of God is not really Jehovah, but Yahweh. You see, they also believe in the name of Yahweh. Why then is it that we never hear the Jews talk about God using his name Yahweh? Again I say, with only a little research, and you will find out, that even before the birth of the Son of God, it has been, the custom of the Jewish people, a man-made commandment not to speak the name of Yahweh in casual daily conversation. This custom only allows the name of Yahweh to be spoken by the high priest once a year. Other than that, the name is forbidden to be spoken.

What the Jewish people don't realize is, that there is absolutely no verse in the Holy Scriptures to justify their practice of forbidding mankind to speak the name of Yahweh, in fact the Bible says in Isaiah 12:4 that we should praise Yahweh, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, and make mention of him so that his name can be exalted!!! The Apostle Paul wrote concerning the Jewish people in Romans 10:3, where he said, "...they are ignorant of Yahweh's righteousness, going about to establish their own righteousness, and they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of Yahweh." In reading the New Testament scriptures, a picture is painted of the state of the Jewish people, in particular, those of the highly religious groups, the Pharisees and the Sadducees. The Son of God referred to these men as being hypocrites. He even went so far as to say that they were of their father the devil.

Now, please don't misunderstand the point of this literature. It is not written to run the Jewish people down into the mud. Moses was an Israelite(Jew), the Son of God was a Jew, the Apostle Paul was a Jew. They were all good and faithful servants of Yahweh, so it should be clear that that there is nothing wrong about being a Jew. The point to be conveyed is this, the Jewish people, their priests, their teachers, their scribes, were responsible for keeping the oracles of Yahweh, that Moses delivered to them so long ago. But, as you read the Bible, you will quickly realize that the Jewish people quite regularly fell away from the will of God, taking matters into their own hands, and changing things that should never have been changed. And such is the case concerning the name of Yahweh.

The truth is, (and this is a great mystery) the name of Yahweh was not first revealed in Moses' time, but in the very beginning of man's existence upon the earth. In the first 9 chapters of the book of Genesis, men used the name Yahweh, when referring to God their creator. Gen. 4:26 states, in the days of Enosh, the grandson of Adam, that" began to call upon the name of Yahweh." Enosh knew the name of Yahweh, and Adam also knew it, because he was still alive when Enosh was born. You see, Adam lived to be 930 years old. He begat Seth when he was 130 years old, which made him 235 when his grandson Enosh was born. Adam always knew the Lord by his name "Yahweh", from the very beginning. Even his wife Eve knew. It was her that said in Gen. 4:1, when she gave birth to Cain her firstborn, "I have gotten a man from Yahweh." But, it wasn't until Adam's grandson's time that Adam, along with all his sons and daughters, began to call upon Yahweh for blessings and help, which is why the Bible states that only then did men begin to call upon the name of Yahweh.

The truth is, even up to the great flood which took place in the days of Noah, the name of Yahweh was known. Noah knew that God's name was Yahweh. In Gen. 5:29, when Lamech his father named him, he said that Noah "...shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which Yahweh has cursed." And therefore, Noah's three sons also knew God as Yahweh, because it was them and their wives that went with Noah on the ark.

It was not until some undetermined generation after that men stopped worshipping Yahweh, and forgot his name, and began to serve other gods, making idols and images, the work of their own hands. In the days from Adam to Noah, before the flood, there was no mention in the Bible of the sin of worshipping idols or false gods. If it had been a significant issue among mankind, it would have been written in Gen. 6 with all the sins mentioned that men were committing in those days. The lustful practice of marrying numerous wives was mentioned, violence was mentioned, but false worshipping was not mentioned. It wasn't until after the flood, in the days of the children of Noah's sons, Shem, Japheth, and Ham, that men began to worship false gods, to carve graven images, and to cast molten images, idols.

By the time that Abram, the grandfather of Israel, was born, the name of Yahweh was no longer mentioned by mankind, and Abram along with all his father's house, did not know Yahweh the true and living God, and they worshipped false gods. But Yahweh chose Abram, which he later renamed "Abraham", to be the father of his chosen people, that in future generations he may use them to restore his name Yahweh and the worship of himself, back into the land. At that time, he did not yet reveal his name "Yahweh" to Abraham, but Abraham called God by the title "El Shaddai", which means God Almighty. This fact is found in Exo. 6:3.

In order to understand the storyline and purpose of the Holy Scriptures, you must grasp this main theme, Yahweh's desire for all mankind to know who he is, so that we can love him and worship him in spirit and in truth. The men before the flood decided that they did not want to be like him. So, Yahweh destroyed all but 8 of them. He chose Noah because Noah was a just man and perfect. Yahweh saw that Noah had a heart to be obedient to his instructions. And that is also why he chose Abraham, as well as all the other men that Yahweh chose over the years.

And so Abraham begat Isaac, Isaac begat Israel, and Israel begat all twelve of the tribes of Israel, which Yahweh sent to Egypt, and allowed the Egyptians to put them into bondage in the land of Egypt. And Israel was in bondage for 400 years. At the end of those days, Yahweh appeared to Moses, a man of the tribe of Levi, of the sons of Israel. He told Moses to go to Pharaoh, and to bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt. Moses then asked God, "When the children of Israel ask what your name is, what shall I tell them?"Exo. 3:13-15 Yahweh answered him, saying, "This is what you shall say to the children of Israel, Yahweh has sent me unto you: this is my name forever, and my memorial for all generations."

Once again, the name of Yahweh, God's only true name, was being proclaimed in the earth. And Yahweh through Moses gave the children of Israel many commandments to keep, that they may be holy, and not forsake him by turning aside to serve other gods, which are false. In Exo. 20:3, he told them that they could not have any other gods, besides Yahweh alone. But over the years, the children of Israel were very disobedient to Yahweh's commandments, and they turned and served other gods. But Yahweh was merciful, sending judges, deliverers, and raising up kings and prophets, to bring the hearts of his chosen people back to him, to his holiness, and to his name.

The children of Israel were eventually carried away captive by the Assyrians and the Babylonians, because they would not hearken to Yahweh's instructions. He had told them in the days of Moses, that if they would not serve him, and him only, that he would carry the children of Israel away, out of the land that he gave them to possess. But Yahweh later allowed a remnant of them to return to the land of Israel, and from then on they ceased from worshipping any other god, besides Yahweh.

Although the children of Israel were obedient to only worshipping Yahweh, they did nevertheless make one major mistake. In the gap between the Old Testament scriptures and the New Testament scriptures, before the Son of God came, the leaders of Israel made it a rule that the name of Yahweh was no longer aloud to be mentioned in daily conversation. According to the ruling, only the high priest could say the name Yahweh, and only once a year. This practice was completely manmade, and was not and still is not Yahweh's will, although the Lord knew it would happen. You see, he allowed it to happen, just like he allowed the children of Israel to go into bondage for 400 years in Egypt, and made Egypt a great and mighty nation, and hardened the heart of Pharaoh, that he would not let the Israelites go, that Yahweh may get himself a great and terrible name in the earth. He also allowed the leaders of Israel to make that great error, in order for the prophesy of the Messiah, the Son of Yahweh, to be fulfilled, and for the scene of his appearing to be properly set. John 17:6 says that the Son of God manifested, that he made known Yahweh's name to the men that he chose to be his apostles and disciples. And after the Messiah returned to heaven, the apostles went into all the world, teaching all nations the truth about God, teaching his true name, and the name of his only begotten Son.

You see, there is only one God, loving and wise, and full of mercy and truth. But he has only one name. Yahweh is the only name given to call upon the creator of heaven and earth. So then, if we truly love him, we will keep his commands, when he said, "I AM YAHWEH YOUR GOD...YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BESIDES ME...and YOU SHALL NOT TAKE THE NAME OF YAHWEH YOUR GOD IN VAIN," and to know God's name and not use it is without a doubt in vain.
